Facial Oil For All Skin Types

There's nothing better than cleansing your face and then applying a nourishing layer of facial oil.

Up until a few years ago, I would always opt for lotions and stayed away from facial oils. I was really missing out because they're positively amazing for our skin. As we grow older, our natural oils begin to deplete and it's important to add them back. Facial oils aren't just for mature skin, they're for all types of skin. I'm going to highlight a specific oil for each skin type. Of course, these are just my recommendations and there are lots of effective options out there! As always, use what is right for you!

Facial Oil for Acne-Prone Skin

Rosehip Seed Oil

I have to say, this is a miracle oil for acne and acne-scarring. That's why it's a main ingredient in my glowing facial ládi. Rosehip seed oil is high in omega-rich fatty acids and antioxidants, which work together to even the tone of your skin. It's also wonderful when it comes to balancing out oil production. Rosehip seed oil contains linoleic acid, which is an essential building block for ceramides, which in turn create a healthy epidermal barrier to maintain hydration + defend against environmental skin stressors.

Facial Oil for Dry Skin

Sweet Almond Oil

I absolutely love sweet almond oil. It's actually like a drink for my skin! Since almond oil has a slow skin absorption rate, it's good to use as a stand-alone oil rather than mix with other ones. Almond oil makes your skin super soft and has high concentrations of vitamin E, magnesium phosphorus, and copper. It's been used for centuries to calm and repair skin due to its anti-inflammatory and emollient properties. This may be obvious but don't use it if you're allergic to nuts!

Facial Oil for Mature Skin

Argan Oil

I adore argan oil and use it all over my body + in my hair. It's wonderful for mature skin too! Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids (oleic acid and linoleic acid), argan oil has incredibly hydrating effects for dry skin and can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles + restore elasticity.

Facial Oil for Oily Skin

Jojoba Seed Oil

This oil is also in glowing facial ládi and it's so breathable, I love it! Since jojoba breaks down and dissolves sebum, it can help control your shine. Jojoba seed oil is very close to your skin's own natural oil, so it balances the oil in the skin rather than adding more to it. It adds hydration where it's needed, but can also help decrease excess oil production.

Facial Oil for Combination Skin

Marula Oil

Fun fact, my Greek name is Maroula, so of course I have to love this oil. It has anti-bacterial properties and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. It's really a very light oil! It has essential fatty acids that mimic those that exist naturally in the outer layer of the skin. You can't go wrong with Marula.

Overall Best Facial Oil

If I have to pick a favorite, it's going to be avocado oil, which you may have already guessed if you follow me on social media. It's my go-to for everything from body oil, hair care and you bet I lather it on my face. Avocado oil is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, and E. Avocado oil also contains potassium, lecithin, and plenty of other nutrients that nourish your skin. It's easily absorbed by the epidermis & I specifically notice that it's excellent for restoring moisture + calming the skin.
